I don't know what happened over the weekend that made my baby's tummy so upset, but starting on Saturday and still continuing through today, my littlest man has been a diaper blow-out machine, which of course has caused his poor bum to be in pitiful shape. I have tried many different creams over the years with my other two children. I have tried Butt Paste, Arbonne, Desitin, etc. The one that I have found works best seems to be just plain Cornstarch. They actually sell it in baby powder bottles now, but of course, I have none of that at home. I do have Cornstarch in my kitchen, however, and with a little creativity, I have discovered you can make almost anything. So in an attempt to make much less of a mess when putting some Cornstarch on baby T, I decided to make a powder shaker out of an old pill bottle I had lying around. All you need is a pill bottle, hammer, a nail, and Cornstarch (and a sharpie if you want to decorate or print out a cute label if you're feeling fancy!).
Just punch a few holes in the lid with the hammer and nail, remove the original label (it should peel off really easy), and fill with cornstarch. I was worried about the bottle spilling like crazy, but I flipped it upside down and it was good. You have to shake it for it come out, which was great for me, because I didn't want it pouring out in my bag if I had to take it with me.
