With Father's Day rapidly approaching, I thought I would share a few of the Father's Day gifts I have made in the past with the kids from church. Last year, I printed out little questionnaires, had the kids answer the questions and then put them in clear stand-up frames that I found at the Dollar Tree. They were really adorable, especially some of the answers the kids gave. I searched google for a template of questions, tweaked it a little, filled in the answers the kids gave me, and then printed them out on decorative paper to be framed. The dads all loved them!
The year before that I made little goodie bags filled with trail mix and a cute explanation of each item. It is always inspiring when I see that the really sentimental gifts, although often super simple, seem to get the best response. I posted the goodie bag idea on my Pinterest board and to my surprise it started to spread like wildfire. I kept laughing when the numbers started shooting up way over 7,000 repins, considering the highest I had ever gotten was about 30. This one was incredibly easy. First, decide what you want in your trail mix, then come up with cute little sayings that go along with that item. Fill ziploc bags (or brown paper bags) with the trail mix, staple or glue a little tie to the front (I found a template on google for the ties and let the kids cut them out), and staple the explanation to the back. Voila! Instant "Melted Heart" for daddies everywhere!
